Rags Nightclub is an 'end of night' club which really gets going in the early hours. When most of the other bars close in the Starco and Veronicas area then this is the time to hit Rags. 3am is when it really kicks off and Rags is open until 6am!
Its a pretty dark nightclub on the inside giving up much of its space to the dancefloor where you'll find a couple of podiums and poles for the more adventurous. Its only a small nightclub and during its peak hours the people spill out onto the pavement and and outside terrace bar where you can sit yourself down on picnic type benches.
Early on its pretty quiet and your likely to hear all your funky house and dance around this time. Because early on its still quiet, don't be fooled into thinking that its not a decent nightclub. When it hits 3 am all the R'n'B groovers head on down to shake their thing on the dance floor.
The atmosphere in here can really be electric at its peak time and the DJs here certainly know how to work a crowd. To pick a negative of this bar is that it can get really hot during peak hours so you'll be visiting the bar quite a lot to rehydrate! The only other negative point we can give is that the inside could use a bit of a facelift. Its decor is pretty dated and is grubby and dirty in places.
To Conclude: Rags nightclub is the only place to go if your into R'n'B. Although its small, its a great place to bump and grind in the early hours and is your best spot for R'n'B in Playa de las Americas, tenerife.

I love rags... best nightclub on the strip... its quite small.... but at least you won't lose any of your friends!:) went to all the clubs and bars on the strip and we always seemed to end up back in rags!:) i did'nt like the pushy PR people though!:(
Rags is brillant.. specially when your with a crowd. Rags is the sort of the place you would have to be drunk or gettin drunk before you actually go trying going somewhere and leave this bar til the end of the night, you will not be disappointed.
This was by far one of the worst places me and my bf went to throughout the whole 2 weeks!
as soon as we came out of Leonardos a PR from Rags came upto us literally forcin us in even though we said 'sorry we are going to o'neils' and he was like 'o'neils is shit, come to rags its much better i promise' and after 5 more attempts at walking away he kept coming after us (probably because i had my designer bag with me and thought he could get abit of dough off us if you could put it that way)
so in the end we said we would go and have a look down, the drinks werent bad but still cheaper in o'neils. The PR guy didnt even seem happy, just the pushy kind who seems bored and miserable.. then we went in the dancefloor area and the music was pretty good (same as everywhere else, the usual!) there was an oldish DJ playin (say about 40 odd) and he wasnt bad, i asked him for a song and he said he will put it on in 5 mins.. then this young, skinny DJ came on and i asked him for the same song because the other DJ might not of told him and he was like 'sure.. it will be on in a min' then passed about 15 mins and i wanted my bloody song on! so i asked him nicely when he was gonna put it on (i wasnt doing any harm but he was puttin the same old crap on as other places that you hear every day) and he was like yeh it's coming on in 1 min... so i went back on the pole and it was proper bouncin, then i got abit more drunk and i went upto him after another 15 mins and said 'wheres me song at then?" in a non-nasty way and he said 'aww im puttin my shit on now' and looked all smarmy chattin up his lovely shot girl who thought he was gorgeous so i just had to say 'F*CK OFF THEN!!" and me and my bf just walked out and i told the PR guy who forced us in and said we didnt like it coz the DJ is shite.. and he actually agreed.
so never go in rags espesh if you want a song on.. you will NEVER get it coz the DJ is up his own backside
