Whales and Dolphins

This is the perfect way to laze about on a sunny afternoon while taking in some of the local wildlife.

You can book this excursion direct with Freebird Sailing or through your hotel rep who will normally offer this as an excursion with coach transfers to the marina.

You climb aboard the Freebird catamaran and cruise out to sea in search of the local bottle nosed dolphins and humpback whales while enjoying the free bar and snacks. The boat has shaded areas for those wanting to avoid the sun while nets can be found at the front of the boat for those wanting to laze the day away. After cruising for a while you will anchor up and have a swim stop along the rock cliff coastline.

The water around the south of the island is generally calm and is great for sailing. Only people with extreme motion sickness should avoid this excursion.

The cruise lasts for around 3 - 4 hours and costs around €40 which is inclusive of all your free food, drink transfer to the marina should you book through your tour operator rep.

I went on a freebird katamaran two years ago in tenerife and all i can say is DO NOT GO ON ONE IF YOU GET SEA SICK! Even the slightest bit! I can see how it could be enjoyable if you do not suffer from sea sickness however i was very poorly during the cruise! My friend however enjoyed being able to sunbathe on it! Its not that good value for money either as your not guaranteed to see anything, we apparently saw some porpoises however all i saw was a thing moving about 100m away under the water! The best bit of the journey was being able to jump in the sea towards the end as the cold water got rid of my sickness! Overall, great if you like rocky journeys and the potential fish spotting, otherwise, i'd spend your money on something else!!

Freebird Exclusive

Freebird are running an adults only cruise which is a little more exoensive than the normal sailing but is worth the extra. It is on the smallest boat that Freebird have which only takes 40 people and as they are adults only there are no screaming brats on board trying to throw themselves overboard!!!

It is a comfy boat with padded seating area and sunbathing nets at the front, and proper toilets as well!!!

There is a free bar on board including champers and full buffet all included in the price. They go to see the whales and dolphins and then to the natural beach for a swim.

A great way to go out, see the pilot whales and dolphins with free booze and food all included!!!!!!
