The Coral Beach is a popular mixed guest aparthotel. It is just a well suited to young single guests as it is to those with children. Maybe because of the mix of guests it doesn't have the same reputation as a "party" hotel amongst younger single guests as some others I could think of. A variety of board options are available at the Coral Beach, room only self catering to full board.
The hotel calls itself an aparthotel to reflect the mix between self catering apartments and hotels with meals included arrangement.
The Coral Beach is in a pretty good overall location in the resort of Playa de las Americas. It is only minutes away from the ocean front and a wide variety of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. It's immediate location is perhaps not ideal, although not a small hotel it feels like the hotel has been squeezed into a gap. Unless you have a pool view, many rooms on the lower floors will be overlooked by other properties.
First impressions walking into the Coral Beach are very good. The reception lobby and lounge is very clean and bright, with direct views over the pool.
I have stayed at the Coral Beach a number of times over the years and the rooms are of average size for this type of hotel. Cleanliness has never been a cause for concern for me at the Coral Beach. While nothing perticularly special the furniture within the room was fine. On this latest stay the studio contained two single beds and a sofa bed, a small dining table, sideboard with a portable tv and a coffee table. The kitchenette was adequately equipped, we could argue that a full size electric oven is of no use and would be better replaced by a microwave oven.
The pool is what is sometimes described as freeform, in other words a strange shape. It is a reasonable size but certainly not large, part of it is sectioned off as a childrens paddling pool. The sun terrace around it seems to have enough sunbeds for those that want them. The pool is hemmed in by the U shape of the Coral Beach and the Optimist apartments along the other end, it doesn't get much breeze which means it can get hot around the pool.
The hotel also has a large bar and restaurant and sundry facilities like currency exchange, internet, pay to view films, laundry facilities, car hire and excursion booking, a mini market shop and courtesy shower rooms for if you are on a late flight home.
