A Hidden Gem

This tiny little place is visited by returning guests throughout the year as well as plenty of locals. Its obvious that Rob and Sally, the owners, are doing something right! We've been fans of this place since it opened way back in 2002 and it just keeps getting better and better

The restaurant is set on a terrace along the quiet promenade close to the Los Cristianos harbor. The surroundings are quaint and is a great place to sit and people watch while sipping on the locally sourced wines. The restaurant is very intimate and only has around 10 tables which are all under cover and candle lit come dusk. Because the restaurant is so small it allows the staff to give great attention to detail and exceptional service without being too intrusive.

The food really is something else. All the produce is fresh and locally sourced and cooked to perfection by Rob and his team of chef's. The menu is geared towards the British tourists so you'll find an array of steaks, salads and common International dishes. The seperate menu for vegitarians is a nice touch with all dishes made from scratch onsite. The portions are huge but quality is not compromised unlike some other 'gutbuster' places you may come across. Its highly recommended to order the Canarian Potatoes with Mojo Sauce(pronounced moho) as these are simply devine when in season.

Theres a good selection of local and international wines, branded spirits and beers as well as some imported beers.

As far as price goes its certainly not the cheapest meal you'll have but, as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". If you like quality yet plentiful food in nice surroundings then this really is a place to visit! It's well worth booking a table as the restaurant can be very busy in peak season.

Delightful restaurant

We have just returned from a week in Tenerife. I am a vegetarian (I do not eat meat or fish) and although I would prefer to eat local food when travelling, even ordering a salad can mean it being sprinkled with fish or bacon. We were delighted to find The Olive Garden but I was surprised to find lots of fish on the vegetarian menu. Vegetarians do not eat fish.
Anyway, I had a lovely meal and the owner was very welcoming.
We were going to return on another evening but when we got near the sea front, everything was closed because of the power cut in parts of the island.

The Best Food around

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful
We have visited Los Cristaianos twice in the last few years and found the Olive Garden because we fancied a sunday dinner during our first visit. The quality of the food, the size of the meal and the service were all exceptional which made us go back a few days later to try the full english breakfast. We were not disappointed, in fact their mega-extrene breakfast is to die for and my wife loves their cheese on toast and tomatoes on toast amongst other things. On our last visit two of us tried their baby ribs as a starter and loved the sauce so much we asked them what the chef uses and was told that he makes it himself. When we were leaving his wife gave us two bottles of the sauce to take home which we thought was a very kind offer.
We are going back in six weeks time and plan to spend a lot of it eating at the Olive Garden. The service is fantastic and the food is not only superb but you get good portions at a reasonable price and plenty of choice. We would recommend it to anyone who likes good wholesome food.

Yummy...

We frequently holiday in Los Cris and had seen the Olive Garden but not eaten there before, when we did we were hooked. The date and walnut cake is to die for - went almost every afternoon for a tea special. The menu was amazing and we loved the fact that it was all freshly prepared and cooked. Perhaps the only criticism is the size of the portions! On our last day we tried the hot roast beef sandwich - a meal in itself - the most succulent beef I've ever tasted and again, nothing stinted on the helpings. We will be back for breakfast on the first morning of our next visit - if we can get a seat without reservation. These lovely people deserve to be mowed out - try it, you won't be disappointed!

After Trying our best to find a decent restaurant we stumble across "The Olive Garden". It was the amazing menu that struck us all with even more amazing prices and when the meals were presented they were of good quality and large portions. It was tough Going trying to finish it all!!!
If your a Vegetarian a TRUE VEGETARIAN then this has to be on your list, and even if your not you wont be disapointed. Enjoy!

My Sister & I found The Olive Garden by chance. The food in our Hotel nearby was lousy so we decided to eat out.We found the people who cooked & served the food were very friendly and took the trouble to, get to know their Customers, they always seemed to have what you wanted and the food was excellent. We were there Sept 2008 and ate breakfast, lunches & dinners there on numerous ocassions. They served English tea & toast with Marmite for brekkie Hurray!!!If we go back will definitely look this restuarant up again,

Vegetarian selection

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful
Once my husband and I found this place we were hooked!

Being vegetarian it was really difficult to find nice food, so this was fantastic. The service was really friendly and quick too.

My husband turned 30 while we were in Tenerife and decided to go to the olive garden for lunch after the celebrations the night before. The owner was asking if we were out the night before and we told her it was his 30th birthday that day. When i went to the toilet i was pulled to one side and asked what kind of cake he liked, giving me a selection. She then presented him with a very large piece of coffee cake, complete with candle, as a birhtday treat for him! (it was delicious btw)

The food is fantastic, i have been craving the korma and veg-wot-a-chic since we came back last month!! Well worth going to.
