The climate in the south of Tenerife is hotter than that of the north of Tenerife. Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos sit on the south of the island meaning they enjoy the best of the Tenerife weather. You can see a live weather forecast for Playa De Las Americas and Los Cristianos above. From the charts on below you can see that the temperature doesn't fluctuate very much throughout the year, hence Tenerife has been dubbed by many asĀ "the island of eternal spring". The Tenerife climate is very hot in peak season with temperatures regularly hitting 30 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Although Tenerife and the surrounding Canary Islands are Spanish in ownership, they are closer to Africa than anywhere else. Lying in the Atlantic Sea, a mere 200 km from the North West coast of Africa, Tenerife enjoys a lot of the same sub-tropical climate with cooling winds blowing over from the African deserts.
What will the weather in Tenerife be like when I go? Below you'll see just how little Tenerife's climate changes year round...
Although the sun may not seem as harsh compared to other parts of the world, always be careful and ware plenty of sun cream. The cool, refreshing breeze may make you think your not burning. Don't ruin your holiday - Be smart!
